A spontaneously-run campaign in a custom region. Channel is #AlthoRegion
HEY THIS IS IMPORTANT: http://pastebin.com/r31rQbpV
What do I need to know about the Altho Region?
Altho is located north of Johto/Sinnoh along the eastern coast, but south of the Sinnoh region. A generally mountainous region, several pockets of different landscapes exist in gaps between the mountains, leading to a region that is ecologically diverse but bares concentrated and distinct biospheres. Since the mountains are generally steep and trecherous, travel is generally achieved by train lines running between the major cities; although to get to any of the smaller towns you might have to go trekking on foot.
The capital and star city of the Altho region is Ivoryscape City; jutting from the north-eastern peninsula, this massive port city has functioned as the center of Altho trade and commerce for years. It is large enough that the ports have been placed on the islands surrounding it, and large bridges stretch back to the mainland. It is a main stopping destination for individuals travelling between Sinnoh and Kanto, being precisely halfway between the two regions, and many companies and organizations have holds - or even headquarters - in this city, from which they manage operations in both cities.
Altho does have its own league. Unlike many other regions, even many small outposts in Altho allow competitors to face a gym challenge. As a result, only the league's largest gyms actually hand out solid badges - almost every other location uses a digital variant that resets yearly, forcing competitors to prove themselves each year in time for the league competitions at the end.
The setting of the game is a modern timeline. It will be set eight years following the events of Generation 2/4 (so 8 years since 1/3; and two years prior to the events of Isshu/Unova). I should not have any problems with characters originating from other regions, however - possibly even regions that have been used in other games, with some discussion.
Technologically, Altho shares much of the same unusual technology level of the rest of the Japan-located regions. Altho does, however, make use of electronic trainer IDs that function alternatingly as credit cards and personal records. Since they're required to board the trains, very few individuals - trainers or not - do not carry one.
Other features of the region, for the time being, can be decided by players applying - if you can think of a snowy city or some strange tradition your trainer was a follower of or something, throw it at me. Questions are encouraged; as they come up, I'll throw them here or something.
So, the Wanderers…
Started in Altho ages ago, Wanderers was once a semi-secret organization of rangers who worked to keep the peace of the newly settled region and explore its frontiers. However, as the region became settled, those purposes became less important. About fourty years ago, the Wanderers finally made their existance public when they opened their doors in Ivoryscape City and began allowing applicants.
Now, Wanderers are individuals who are something like 'sponsored travellers'. The Wanderers guild handles reservations, ensures free care at Pokemon Centers for the trainers and their pokemon alike, and unlimited access to the train network. They are a diverse group, their members being of all ages, backgrounds, nationalities, genders, interests, skill sets, levels, and goals - all that matters to the Wanderers is that you follow their one rule:
"I hereby pledge to listen for the call for the Wanderers, and answer it to the best of my ability."
'The Call' is just that - a call sent out that reaches members of the Wanderers via their special-issue Pokedexes, bearing a special marking on the upper right corner, that each carries. It's a distinctive ring. When it's recieved, instructions appear on the Pokedex of those who are called. Members are expected to follow those instructions to the best of their ability. Nobody knows who exactly determines who gets these calls or when - sometimes two Wanderers will be travelling together and only one will get it; sometimes Wanderers in several different parts of the region will be called. All that is known is that "the call is not beyond the abilities of those who recieve it" and that "if you don't accept it, the Wanderers cut off your benefits until you accept one."
The reason for entering the Wanderers is up to you; although it is not an elite organization by any means, it's numbers are small, but their rhyme or reason for accepting people seems to be random chance. Some enter the Wanderers practically as a career - it pays well and takes care of them, and in return allows them to live whatever life they want in the meantime. Some are people who have already fulfilling careers, or great fame and fortune, seeking some excitement or wanting to offer their services for society. Some are less fortunate - down on their luck, they joined the Wanderers to get back on their feet. And stranger still are stories of individuals who joined the Wanderers by more unusual means than ever.
Information will be added here as we have confirmed locations, organizations, NPCs, etc. - from backstories approved or sessions.
This is getting out of date I'll work on it at some point
*Melodic Daycare: A large daycare south of Ivoryscape City, known for being an exceptionally safe location. Watched over by a kindly old couple. Travellers occasionally rest there too, or even take up temporary jobs.
*Northern University of Altho: The largest and grandest university in the region, it is almost a small town unto itself; a self-contained set of dormitories, classes, and everyday shops and recreation created to allow students to remain there full-time. The university accepts people at almost every skill level and program.
*Sandstep City: While it does not compare to the grandeur of other cities like Saffron or Celadon, it is a fair place to live in it's own right and has most of the luxuries and sights one can expect from a big city. It is situated on a large island off the coast of the Altho region and has a bustling port. It has gained a reputation for its exceptional law enforcement practices. It is situated on a large island in the southeast of the region, between two smaller, uninhabited islands.
*Sirrui Village: A small village nestled on the west side of the lake in central Altho, it is occasionally the target of raids by Pokemon or humans; otherwise is fairly peaceful.
*The Von Fraenir Ranch: Specific location currently undetermined; it is a well-known Pokemon ranch specialising in raising Dragon type Pokemon. Carries a great deal of prestige with its name.
*Grume Village: A village on the eastern edge of Saveen Jungle. It is walled off from the main threats of the jungle and is surprisingly peaceful, its citizens relatively harmless. It uses the uniquely humid climate to harvest rare berries, apricorns, and fruits for the rest of the region.
*Saveen Jungle: A hot, humid, savage and mazelike jungle in the ring of mountains that makes up northwestern Altho. It is home to a great many dangers and is generally extremely hard to explore, but is full of rare flora and fauna and is relatively immune to the seasons.

Hunt 06: To Be Determined
Minisessions are just random bouts of additional roleplaying without mechanical changes being rewarded, generally speaking.
Mini-Session 1/2-1: Jamal broods over his unfortunate experiences with psychic ex-girlfriends, only to find some unexpected advice from Kuji in the form of a common gambling game.
Mini-Session 2A/B-1: Kuji gives Sophia a tour of the city only to be distracted by Grant's proseltyzing. Jamal and Trevor arrive on the scene, and shenanigans ensue as Rachel's team of Smeargle paint Jamal's police cruiser.
Mini-Session 2A/B-2: Much to Trevor's horror, Salino and Kuji engage in a public boxing match for "training."
Mini?-Session 2B/C-1: Sara and Kuji manage to reconcile despite the events of New Year's as they help Trevor track down his unruly Donphan. Camellia joins them as the group heads to a diner where they meet Maus, a mysterious boy with a Murkrow perched upon its head.
Mini-Session 2B/C-2: Sophia asks the locals about fishing for Wailmer. Grant shows up to spread the good news about the Unown, much to Sara's annoyance. Marcus gets a lesson on psionic powers.
Mini-Session 2C/D-1: Kuji and Hayate meet and exchange words.
Mini-Session 2D/F-1: Camellia visits Salino the morning after the terrifying events of January 13th to try to work out just what happened.
Mini-Session 2D/F-2: Kuji visits Salino with the intention of beating him to a pulp for disclosing confidential information to Camellia. Fate has something else in mind though, as the pair soon reconcile and forge a deeper intimate bond.
Mini-Session 2D/F-3: Maus pays Trevor an awkward visit to his hotel room. Misunderstandings and Donphan-caused chaos ensue.
Mini-Session 2D/F-4: Jamal has philosophical conversations with Hayate and Grant and starts to lose his fear of Psychics.
Mini-Session 2D/F-5: Salino and Kuji have sexytime. It's kinda like this.
Mini-Session 2D/F-6: Sophia and Camellia meet at Joe's Diner and find common ground in discussing pokemon lore. Jamal and Grant arrive, and the peaceful conversation is derailed as Camellia and Grant butt heads. Grant seems about ready to escalate to pokemon combat, but quick use of psychic powers from Sophia and Camellia defuse the situation. The diner is left in chaos.
Mini-Session 2D/F-7: Sophia shows Camellia to her apartment to finish their conversation from the diner, speculating about the legends of the region.
Mini-Session 3A/B-1: After the Mansion escapades end, Trevor partakes in Maus' hospitality. Awkwardness ensues.
Mini-Session 3A/B-2: Trevor heads down to the police station to reclaim the luggage he accidentally left in the van… Leading to further shenanigans with Kuji and Salino.
Mini-Session 3A/B-3: Camellia and Jamal speak of the events at the MacGruffin mansion, providing closure for Jamal and a way to contact Mary for Camellia.
Mini-Session 3A/B-4: While Salino is in the hospital, he and Kuji discuss the the status of their relationship and future plans. Part 2 Trevor comes to apologize to Salino afterwards, but ends up leaving him with far more than an apology.
Mini-Session 3E/F-1: Kuji comes to Salino's office to ask him to investigate his newest Pokemon… and it quickly turns into discussion on Salino's safety for the upcoming circus. Part 2: Salino shares the information he gained about shadow pokemon with Kuji before they decide to retire for the night.
Mini-Session 3E/F-2: After receiving the unusual Pokemon from Revas and Malahn, Cole uses his Psychic powers to acquire information from Trevor in hopes that it'd unearth details about his own mysterious past. Ryuu runs into the two of them along the way, more than ready to convert them into PokeRider enthusiasts.
Minisession 3F/4A-1: Trevor stumbles upon Jamal and receives assistance from him in picking out new clothing… Poor Maus when (or, rather, if) those clothes ever make it to him.
Minisession 4A/B-1: While hatching eggs as part of his new daycare service, Steve gets an unexpected visitor.
Minisession 4A/B-2: Trevor gets coerced into conversation with Cole on the boat ride back to Ivoryscape from Sandstep.
Minisession 4B/C-1: After Trevor's run-in with Lycus, he wakes up in the hospital… with Maus?
Minisession 4C/D-1: Camellia, Jamal, Reinhard and Kuji have a chat about shadow pokemon at a tea house en route to Gryllsville, and Kuji receives a new friend from Camellia.
Minisession 4C/D-2: Trevor makes a call to Kuji in attempts to get in contact with Camellia and for breeding… And succeeds only in irritating him.
Minisession 4C/D-3: Oliver wrestles a bear. Banjo and Kazooie go to work. Marcus gets a lesson on skinning Sawsbuck from Oliver. Plaid errywhere.
Minisession 4C/D-4: Salino climbs up the side of a mountain to climb into bed with Kuji… And gets a slab of meat from more than just the steakhouse. (Oh yeah, they also talked about children being in hospitals beforehand. Because that totally shouldn't have killed their sex drive. Nope, not at all.) «< This is why I'm not allowed to think at 5AM
Alternative Summary: Kuji and Salino make each other feel all warm and mushy inside… Both figuratively and literally.
Minisession 4F/5A-1: Salino and Kuji exchange gifts for Valentine's Day… and a harsh reminder of Kuji's past comes up when news of the Psychic Evil Exes's Valentine's Day escapade comes on TV.
Minisession 05-C/F-1: When's the best time to ask a girl out? In Reinhard's mind, after she spills her life story about how she was MIND CRUSHED by Unowns, of course! Seriously, though, Reinhard and Camellia look into legendary lore together at the library and make plans to go out for dinner on their first date.
Minisession 05-C/F-2: Trevor brings Maus to Steve's Daycare in Ivoryscape to surprise him with something. It's a surprise to everyone, though, when "Oops, we… Accidentally into too many delicious Eevee babbies." Delicious as in adorable type delicious, not edible type delicious. Because that'd be horrifyingly weird.
Minisession 05-C/F-3: Camellia attempts to conduct some research in the library before her big date with Reinhard, but finds her efforts consistently impeded by others' lack of indoor voices… Amongst those Jamal's "WOAHGODDON'THEXME" fear of gypsy witches and Grant's immorality and vocalizing his plans to put an end to her (within earshot at that, though thankfully curtailed by Jamal and Kuji). As such, it's up to Sophia, upon her arrival, to provide an escape plan and save the day… By virtue of DRESS SHOPPING~
Minisession 05-C/F-4: "How do I into dating?" This is the question on both Reinhard's and Camellia's minds as the two of them flop about helplessly on their first date. It doesn't help either in the slightest when Cole is given the right of popcorning through his job as a waiter. They get better at it as they go along, though.
Minisession 05-C/F-5: Ryuu stumbles across Sophia in the midst of the mountainous terrain just outside of Ivoryscape; the two become travel buddies, and share with one another the songs of their people… Both figuratively, through cultural immersion and discussion, and literally.
Minisession 05-C/F-6: During their train ride, Reinhard and Camellia discuss the whereabouts and behaviors of the von Fraenir brothers, family values, the Wanderers' program and how they go about determining who they send off on which Call, and… The beauty of Camellia's scars. This last one is important because it will provoke uncontrollable levels of "D'aaaaw~".
Minisession 05-C/F-7:
Minisession 05-C/F-8: Guys with Pokemon at the park. One of them hasn't been seen for a while. Will anyone care? Read to find out!
Minisession 05/06-1: A meeting with the almost forgotten witch (who's now a technowitch), the aspiring kid, and the big guy who serves as the comic relief nowadays, if he weren't so serious. How will this meeting go? Who knows, all we know is that DM was nice to them in another channel.

(*) - Trainer EXP: Awarded when standard rewards just don't make sense for the situation. Collecting three Trainer EXP entitles you to a stat point or feature of your choice [not a normal level-up]; every time you get one, however, the next requires an additional one TEXP.
LOYALTY: It needs to be on your sheet. Your starting Pokemon should have had a total of 9 Loyalty between them. Any additional Pokemon caught since then should be at 1 - except Pokemon hatched, which are at two, and Shadow Pokemon, which are at 0. You will have opportunities as rewards in the future to increase Loyalty - and yes, it can matter from here on out.
Also, Please remember to pay attention to the rules for episode rewards
