Once upon a time, two people of a noble (definition of noble may vary) family decided to have a child. Then they had a few more. If you wish to know about the family, you should look at Atsuko's page. It's recommended you go through this first!
In any case, Hitomi was born, and she lived somewhat happily at first. Then she realized that none of this anything makes sense at all. What's a royal family doing like…well, this? In record time, she realized this was all rather silly, and devoted herself to figuring out what's going on, and everything else, too. Knowledge is the answer. With it, she would understand. Once she did, likely sooner rather than later, that was extended to understanding everything she could. The answer to all, if you will.
The passing of time, and she became more aware of everything, especially the world around her. And as such, she wanted to become more than the very young daughter of a bunch of complete jokes, who happened to be kinda smart about things that, in the end, don't actually matter. She simply used the family's resources where she could to get things to learn from, and she cut off all her free time. The answer is power, and knowledge is power. The focus of her reading shifted from pure learning, and ended up at 'learning useful things that actually matter'. She also had a younger brother, which she didn't quite have the heart to attempt to engrave in him that this family is terrible and wrong. Of course, she steered him away from becoming like them whilist studying as hard as she could possibly muster. The latter took priority after it seemed like that probably wouldn't happen.
Some more time passed, and then she realized she actually was kind of lucky to be born around here: there's a lot of books. Of course, she did come to realize that knowledge wasn't in fact everything. The power to defend herself is something even more needed during these times. She needed to be able to do that. Yes, power can also be power, just as knowledge can be power. And so, she took up learning Onmyodo. Due to her affinity with learning and her work ethic (she had gotten used to little sleep in favor of studying, free time was no longer a thing unless it was forced upon her), she picked it up rather easily. Of course, simply picking it up wasn't good enough. She was going to master the hell out of it. And so, she did. …Really, she's still working on it, but frankly she's still pretty good compared to a normal user.
It should be noted even moreso than before that her work ethic is absurd and she doesn't really like her family, at least the way it is right now. But since she spent most of her time inside, studying, she hadn't really gotten out that much. Though she could pick up on current events by being in the area of people that she was inevitably forced to be in the area of, it's safe to say that her ability with people isn't what it could be due to her unwillingness to hold a conversation with anyone she could come in contact with save her brother and sister. It's also very clear that if she doesn't either abandon her family name and be left with nothing (which isn't good at all) or make her name worth something, she's going to be in a very strange and bad position for the rest of her life. That won't fly, but then there's the issue of her not having people as her strong point, and if this place needs anything it's someone that has an idea of what they're doing up in front, and as much as she'd like to be otherwise, it's simply not her strongest point. She COULD learn more on it, yes, but what's this, her brother has a lot more experience on this side. And the world, it's been growing more and more unstable. So…if anything, she should figure out how to war, she should know how to command forces at the least. If there's anyone capable of being a leader, it's better him than her. Of course, if there's anyone that could probably smoke anyone in a 100 meter radius, it's still her. So if things go to hell, she can certainly be a war hero, at the least. Not to mention protect her brother, be his sword arm, and ew this leaves her in a servantish position, doesn't it. Oh well, better him than one of those obvious schemers and heavy drinkers, not to mention practically the number two, which is better than sixty and less time consuming than one. It's ideal, actually! So let's get to it!

Not to mention that we'd lose a bunch of other people…and you, which would be a problem because despite everything, you're good to have during a time of war. On the other hand, you won't likely die during peacetime unless outright murdered in an underhanded way, and even then one would need a lot of poison, accidental physical blows wouldn't do the trick at all. Ah, the complications…

Norio: A talking sword with a booming voice that would likely make enemies tremble in fear. Great for morale, has a cutting edge, good with weapons…yeah, that's a sword alright. Swords are pretty great, so I'd have to say he is as well.
Kokoro: At least you don't speak in haiku. I was never good with those. Then again, the last time I wrote poetry was when I was like 10 years old and still into that kind of thing. At least you're good enough with a sword, and I doubt you'll ever panic.

Personality
The first Pokemon that Hitomi obtained. Its typing helps it out little, but it is very capable of taking a hit, using her own shell to negate a large deal of a blow's effectiveness. Enjoys taking it easy, much to her dismay. Despite this, it is rather fearsome in battle, sporting an incredible variety of powerful moves…that it doesn't like to repeat all that often.
Despite her preference to take it easy, yes, you can ride her. In fact, she enjoys carrying people around, hence why Hitomi is willing to hop on if it's a good idea. All aboard, but please don't exceed carrying capacity!

An Elekid that enjoys the thrill of fighting, though does not enjoy it as much as Katsu. Despite this, it aims to be the best at it, or at LEAST the best Electivire someday. Much more in touch with Hitomi, at least when it comes to training and fighting. Aims to overwhelm a foe with a variety of moves and a breakneck speed, to be compared to the foe after they suffer from a very likely case of paralysis.

If you see him punching the ground it's probably nothing. Maybe some form of training? It's not something Hitomi plans on doing, though.

A demon. Honestly, you should have seen the thing when it was a Torchic. Those malevolent eyes…are much more at home in this body, rather than one on an adorable chick. The longer a battle goes on, the more excited it gets. He cares for little more than the defeat of an enemy. Victory on a grand scale is simply unimportant. Thankfully, when it comes to training, Katsu is more than happy to use (and break) training dummies (with the intent to send shrapnel flying). Hitomi would tell it that it's kinda overkill, but then she'd think about it for a moment and then tell it 'good work'. This much has made it docile enough to not cause TOO much problems on a daily basis.
Despite this bloodthirsty nature, Katsu appreciates a good cook, and will avoid causing harm to one. Hitomi is a decent cook, which helps matters ever more slightly.
