Lysander closes his eyes, and takes a deep, slow breath, letting the smell of his new room suffuse his lungs. It smelled like wood, brine, and maybe just a bit like mildew. It was wonderful.
He sits down along the side of the large bed, aware of the fabric as it crincles under him, and the gentle sway of the ship. The small joltik hiding under the fold of his collar jumps out, inspecting the room as well.
Lysander removes his rain-dampened robe, throwing it on the floor just beyond the foot of the bed. He reaches for his belt, and lets out a small rhydon.
"Stickers, Quartz, welcome to our new home," the young man says. The rhydon doesn't seem very interested in the room; it immediately ambles over to Lysander, putting its head on his lap. The young man begins stroking it absentmindedly.
"Another new start. And this way we get to travel, make new friends, and … maybe I'll even find her. I'm not sure what I'll do if I do, to be honest. Kiss her, then arrest her? And what to do with him? That's an even bigger dilemma. At least he's not a pirate now, but …"
The rhyhorn rubbed its cheek against the side of his knee as in response, contently purring in deep low rumble, as Lysander continues to caress the back of the rhyhorn's smooth, rocky ears.
"You're right, the past is the past. I should be worried about my new companions instead of my old ones. I don't think most of them think much of me though, truth be told. Miss Med was friendly, at least, and I think the meal helped break the ice a bit with everyone…. I suppose I don't look like much though; I'm certainly neither as physically imposing as Mr. Kalama nor as dashing as Mr. Frazier. And my credentials of 'Pokemon Trainer' probably don't much much to them; they're all trainers in their own right, of course."
Lysander sighs, falling back on the bed, the duvet cool against his bare skin. Stickers jumps on his chest, skittering up his sternum and up his chin. Lysander looks at him with crossed eyes and smiles, changing the spider's footing a bit as it stands on his lips to gentle patpat his nose.
"Thanks."
