Player Character Information

Player characters have their choice to play as any of the three major sapient species; Humans, Deoxyns, or Xects'es (See Playable Races)

A possible game might take place with the players as officers in the UPDD

Depending on the size of your campaign, you may want to start players anywhere between level 1 or level 20 or higher. Shorter campaigns generally want higher levels. Follow the book for suggested starting points for Trainers and Pokemon.

However, a unique aspect of Terrafell is the existence of Starships. If you wish to use the starship rules, it may be a good idea to give them a ship, using the same rules as their starter. For more info on how to build starships go here: Starship Rules

If the campaign is combat-oriented, you might want to ask them to choose a melee or ranged weapons. Laser guns exist, as well as lightsaber-like weaponry. For more information see Original Space Items

Here is a suggested character sheet to use, customized for use in this campaign setting:

Starter Choices:

At this point in the history of the galaxy, all three species are pretty well integrated, especially ones joining the UPDD. There are no restrictions by planetary availability on starter choices as long as you have a reason your character owns that pokemon in your backstory. For example, a Deoxyn can start with a Geodude (A traditional Xects'es starter), or a Xects'es could start with a Squirtle (A common human starteR), or a Human could start with a Ralts (A common Deoxyn starter), or any combination, as long as it's a 3-stage family with a reasonable BST. For extremely low-level games, be very careful about giving out Steel or Ghost starters, as well as any starter that might resist Normal-type attacks.

Note on Supernatural Classes

Deoxyns are unrestricted as far as Supernatural classes go. Humans and Xects'es, however, must undergo surgical implants to make their brains able to do the things Deoxyns can do. If you want to go for a Supernatural class but also want to play a Human or Xects'es, you may assume you have undergone Psionic surgery at character creation (Allowing you to take most of the features required for such classes). Otherwise, until you have that surgery, you cannot take Psionic edges and classes.
